These are some fantastic Sunday Brunches! But call ahead to make reservations. They do get full and Busy! But then, that’s why they are a 5-Star Restaurant!! And we were lucky enough to receive and try some of their latest releases! Well worth joining their Wine Club. They do make an awesome Reserve Merlot, pictured here. And the Pinot Gris passes the test and goes well with asparagus!
Awesome wines and superbly awesome food. Here are some photos of what Robin and I indulged in. To bad there were no “left overs”. We had to get our daughter Marnie her own Wine Lovers Chocolate Cake. Great Sunday Brunch at Parma Ridge Winery and Bistro


It was a beautiful drive from Boise with the fog forming along the river and in the valleys. Surrealistic. The food was good and the service was super. I’m glad we had reservations as the Bistro was getting full with at least 1 large party. I highly suggest you call for reservations – (208) 946-5187 or text them.
My only suggestion, and I mentioned this to Chef Megan, is to watch the salt content in the Poutine Bowl. I know it was well above the 1¼ teaspoon of daily allowance. It was excessive. But the plus side is the flavors were all there from the chardonnay sautéed mushrooms, cheese and bacon. Look at what we had. Yummy! Add to this a wonderful glass (or two) of the Parma Ridge 2016 Merlot, and you are bound for a super experience. Here is their Menu. If you want a fun and delicious visit to a winery bistro and you are in the Boise area, you must go here. Definitely a 5-Star bistro.

Wine Club Party at Parma Ridge Winery and Bistro


Close to 100 people, or more, in the new barrel room, which is awesome. And it looks like everyone found the winery ok with the new sign “pointing the way” on hiway 95 – pictured to the left. Look for it! And then being able to use the new barrel room to accommodate all of the people. Such a treat! Artist Stephanie Hodge was the perfect hostess. And Chef Storm Hodge produced some awesome treats to go with the wines being poured. Both Stephanie and Storm are doing a great job with the winery. Telaya Wines Featured at the TVWS Wine Buffet


It was really a super night. Fine food and wine. Great friends! Telaya Wines, Carrie Sullivan presenting, were paired quite well with the buffet! The Chef and all of his Staff, did a superb job in presenting the buffet courses at the correct time and in the suggested order. Gail McClellan Parker does a super job in working the kitchen in suggesting the meal and paring the wines. Here is the menu for the evening and the wines. Just before the Ides of March, we had an awesome Wine Dinner at The Buzz in Boise, celebrating Italian wines. Superb appetizers, soup, salad, main dish and dessert. This month at The Buzz was pretty good. Sorry that not more people attend this Tuesday night monthly event. Such a great way to spend $20 for dinner and some good wines. 2nd Tuesday and Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm. Dinner was differently good. Quinoa Milanesa for one. An awesome Sweet Potato, Carrot and Chickpea Soup.

The wines were good – I bought one this month a South African 2011 Protea, a satisfying blend of Cab Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. Wine ratings for this dinner, is based on a score of [20], which is a perfect, flawless wine. Very subjective. With that in mind, I rated this a [19] Here is what else we had and the wines that went with each entrée. Enjoy. See you next month!!!

What did I like best? The South African 2011 Protea, pictured above, was superb. And then there was that wonderful soup. A little spicy that only added to the excitement of the soup. By far, the best of the evening was dessert. That was awesome! See what you missed if you didn’t attend? Next month is both beer and wine. It’s Oktoberfest! For the men, wear your Laderhosen. For the ladies, wear your Dirndl.

“Holidays in May” at The BUzz


10May2016_2b_Camino-de-Santiago_Spanish-Countryside_Painted-2As our Son-In-Law Mac and his daughter Sophia slowly make their way along Camino de Santiago in northern Spain and pass by these wonderful “country” homes, we are at The Buzz eating some delightful food and drinking some special wines at the May Wine Dinner, “Holidays in May”. Cristie and her staff, Tommy and Peggy, did another great job. And thank-you Bailey for explaining Lacross to me. One of the best offerings tonight, although I don’t this it paired well with the selected wine, was the Albondiagas Soup – a Mexican meatball soup. And the Teruiyaki Pina Colada Burger with Zuchini Salad and Baked Beans was superb. Wonderful flavors. Here are soime photos from the evening. As a note, I did not get a good photo of the dessert, so yopu won’t see the Cookies and Strawberries. Oops!
