Bacquet’s Restaurant in Eagle, ID. 5-Stars!

OK. This is an awesome French restaurant in Eagle, ID, just west of Boise. I know of no other French restaurant in the area of this caliber. Definitely a 5-Star restaurant! It really replaces Le Café de Paris and Andrea’s. Both of which have closed. Great interior ambiance – like sitting in a French café. The patio offers seating also, but on our visit, it was very hot. You may also have live music on the patio. It would be best to call for reservations if you decide to go. Both Chef Franck and his wife Michelle are very warm, charming and interesting. Anxious to answer question you may have. Here is some of the dishes we had and they were awesome. Delicious! Beautifully presented. Enjoy. We did. We’ll be back! Anyone in Boise remember this French restaurant? Right now, Bacquet’s Restaurant is the only one that I know of.

Spring Release at Parma Ridge Winery

A really good release party at Parma Ridge Winery on April 18. Warm temperatures. Clear skies. Great food. Great wines. Here are the wines that were released and the Tapas we had. Left-Click any photo to see enlarged.

2018 Avielle. 100% Merlot. This Rosé is maned after Avielle, our fiery daughter with Strawberry Blonde hair. Enjoy notes of sweet honey and ripened strawberries with a crisp finish. [Blog Note: Don’t miss this one. It is superb!]
Paring: Crostini with Borsin, Crispy Prosciutto and Blackberry Compote.

2018 Tre Bianchi. 63% Gewürztraminer, 20% Riesling and 17% Viognier. Meaning “Three Whites” in Italian, this full-bodied white features pronounced citrus and melon notes.
Paring: Tempura Halibut Bites with Unagi Sauce.

2016 The Last Zin. 75% Merlot and 26% Zinfandel. “The Last Zin” is a final hurrah to our Zinfandel that perished in the hard-freeze of 2016. This estate-grown red is balanced with notes of wild blackberry, smooth tannins and a touch of charred caramel.
Paring:“The Rochester” – A Korean Chicken Slider with Arugula, Grilled local sweet Onions and Sriracha Aioli. [Superb!]

2016 Tempranillo. 100% Tempranillo. This Spanish Varietal features subtle spices, roasted red pepper and dried cranberry with a smooth oak finish.
Paring: Fresh Fried Chips and Chipotle Cheddar Dip wwith Smoked Chorizo and Filet Mignon Bites.

An interesting night, and the wines were so good! As was the food. Good to see Ed and his friend Ruth (see photo) there and good to have the sitting at our table. Also good to see Baily – it’s been a while.
The wines were different and my high scoring wine was a surprise. The Stuffed Mushrooms were excellent and they paired well with the 2014 Ezyaguirre Merlot (17). Here is the rest of our dinner and the wine parings. Enjoy! Left-Click any of these photos to see them enlarged.)

Parma-Ridge-PatioI just received this from Parma Ridge Wine and Spirits. It is always a joy to get this information from them so we can “spread the word”. Well worth the trip to go see them and visit for a while. Love the Bistro and Chef Storm’;s creations. And Stephanie’s artwork on the walls. Delightful.

Brunch at Parma Ridge Winery

08Nov2015_1_Parma- Ridge-Brunch_2014-Avielle-RoseYea! Parma Ridge Winery, 24509 Rudd Road, Parma, ID has re-opened! Under new owners Chef Storm and Stephanie Hodge, the venue has changed also. They are now serving a wonderful Sunday Brunch from 12 noon to 5:00pm. The space indoors is limited in the winter season to about 25 seats. The deck is open in season. Wonderful owners. Wonderful location. Wonderful food. The wine pictured is really a good Rosé of Merlot. Not too sweet and with a little spice to it. It was named after their daughter. You might want to call for reservations if you have 4 or more people. Or visit their website at Parma Ridge Wine and Spirits. From their website, “Tasting Room hours are 12-5 p.m., Friday – Sunday. Now open for Happy Hour Friday from 4-7 p.m. Join us for a glass of wine, a bite of food and take in the amazing view!” Enjoy the creations of Chef Storm and/or the artwork of Stephanie. Here is what we had and some photos of the area. Enjoy! Ranks very high for winery food – 5-Stars! It’s that good! I have also listed it on TripAdvisor.
