Cloud 9 Nano Brewery, Boise

Oh yes! Another delightful visit to the Cloud 9 Nano Brewery and Pub at 1750 W State St, Boise, ID 83702, Hours: Open 11am, Closes 9pm. Phone: (208) 336-0681. From their website Cloud 9 Nano Brewery and Pub, “Founded in 2012, Cloud 9 Brewery is a nanopub concept featuring locally sourced and organic components in both the brewery and restaurant.
With an emphasis on creative brewing, Cloud 9 is situated in a unique place in the market. Instead of having the exact same line-up from month to month, the beers on-tap at Cloud 9 change as soon as the last drop from the previous batch has been poured. With so many taps, and only 6 year-round beers, the variety is truly amazing.
Cloud 9 also features a unique feedback process by which we judge what beer-drinkers actually think. We collate and analyze the input and use that to shape the direction of the next batch. In this way the community is involved in the brewing process from concept to the final foamy pint.
A commitment to quality, service and genuine interest in our community make Cloud 9 Brewery the place for beer aficionados, foodies, and everyone who enjoys fresh and unique culinary creations.” Their menu is local and diverse.” We use Natural Idaho meats from local ranches, free of antibiotics, hormones and stimulants. Our produce is locally sourced from small farms in Idaho, when possible, and we strive to use only spray free and/or organic ingredients.

The service is very good and very helpful. I asked for fries without salt, and our Waitress made sure they came that way. She was friendly and helpful and exacting. Cloud 9 is definitely a 5-Star pub/bistro. Here is what we had. Left-Click any of these photos to see them enlarged.

Today’s beer menu. I had a Fallen IPA and Robin had a Honey Basil Ale. Both were superb!

An interesting night, and the wines were so good! As was the food. Good to see Ed and his friend Ruth (see photo) there and good to have the sitting at our table. Also good to see Baily – it’s been a while.
The wines were different and my high scoring wine was a surprise. The Stuffed Mushrooms were excellent and they paired well with the 2014 Ezyaguirre Merlot (17). Here is the rest of our dinner and the wine parings. Enjoy! Left-Click any of these photos to see them enlarged.)

New AirBNB in Boise Opens

Are we proud? Yes you bet! Our daughter Marnie and her husband Mac have turned their downtown home into a BNB. Well kind-of. Yes, you can expect everything that you get in a BNB, but not a prepared meal. You make your own meals in this BNB. The AiRBNB, and many more nationwide, have a new trend – You rent the entire home for a short period of time and you have all the conveniences of being at home. You can make your own meals. Do laundry. Have a quiet evening “at home”.
Enjoy beautiful Boise. Generally cheaper than a hotel, where you must purchase every meal. Check the link for more detailed information Marnie and Mac’s AirBNB. And after looking at the photos, make a reservation. The house has been completely remodeled inside and out. Completely fenced in yard. There is also a permanent link to the AirBNB on the Our Retirement Blog in the sidebar. Enjoy your stay and our beautiful city!

Fraser Winery In Idaho Is Doing Great!

The Fraser Winery is doing fine! Bev Fraser, pictured here on the left in the narthex of the winery – “… consisting of the entrance or lobby area, usually located at the west end of the [barrel room]”, assured me that the winery and wines are doing quite well. In spite of recent personal problems, the business continues to grow and moves on!! So, for those of you who are saying that the business is closed, WRONG! Here are some photos from today, and a flyer (you can print it out) for this weekend of the tasting on La Pointe Street in Boise, at the tasting room from 2pm – 5pm. First Visit To 10 Barrel Brewery in Boise

23Apr2013_1_10-Barrel-Opening_Building-FrontFinally. After all this waiting, 10 Barrel Brewery in Boise opened! The photo here is of the front of the pub on Bannock Street at 9th, across from the Chinese restaurant, Yen Ching.
The restaurant space inside iss large and open. The noise level is tolerable. It is busy noise, not loud music or TV. That will work for us. And when the weather changes, they will probably open some very large doors and have an area where one can site on the sidewalk, but be served inside. Left-Click the photo on the left to enlarge and look at the right side of the photo. You will be able to see the stools.
And yes, they serve Apocalypse IPA. In my not so humble opinion (IMNSHO) one of the best, if not The Best, Ipa’s made. We had a Caesar Salad and a 10 Barrel Burger and the IPA went very well with both. Good beer, like good wine, is meant to be consumed with food. It might be made with barley and other grains, but it still needs food. Enjoy the photos posted here that I took on our First Visit. There will be a Second Visit and probably more. Hope to see you there. Well worth the trip. The food is good and the beer is …………. well ………. Super! Cheers and Enjoy!

A really super burger and a great bun. The French Fries, though, were a little salty and came close to over powering the burger. I let the Wait Staff know. The beer in the background is an Apocalypse IPA $4.50

Overall, a good experience. Out of 5 Stars, probably one of the better pubs in Boise so I rate it a 4 Star pub. Great job, 10 Barrel! They have a complete menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizza and sweets. Stop in and say Hello for us and let them know you saw this article here. Thanks and please VOTE above. Cheers.
